Granville to Snuff Out Smoking on Village Grounds

March 3, 2011 By Mark Mulholland WNYT News Channel 13 GRANVILLE - With a few swings of a sledgehammer, the village of Granville has a new law. As the signs being pounded into the ground Tuesday afternoon say, it's now illegal to smoke on village grounds, including parks, playgrounds, museums and outside village hall, even in your car. The mayor says the village offers a lot of outdoor events and smoke was casting a cloud over them. No Tobacco Signs at Saratoga Recreation Center

Community Coalition Releases New Logo

Submitted by Nick Antz, WNYT Web Producer Thursday, January 27th, 1:11 p.m. The final design was picked from 25 logos submitted by students from Sallie Way’s graphic design class. Each student was instructed to design and develop a logo that demonstrates community ties, with messaging that supports the Coalition’s overall mission and captures the attention of a wide target audience-- teens, adults, parents, community leaders, and administrators. Donges The Saratogian SARATOGA SPRINGS — Without an infusion of funds from public or private donors, Youth Court, the countywide, peer-run prevention program focused on first-time teen offenders, will end Jan. 1. The program serves about 300 young people throughout the county each year, including 120 first-time school-age criminal offenders facing charges such as petit larceny, trespass, vandalism and possession of marijuana. Local Businesses Acting on State’s Ban of Four Loko

November 1, 2010 Saratoga Springs City School District students in grades 6-12 took the bi-annual Prevention Needs Assessment Survey in November 2010. Burnt Hills, Galway, and Shenendehowa school districts are also using the survey to gauge risky behaviors among their 6-12th grade population.
